Saddle Warranties

NSC Saddles NZ

When you invest in an NSC saddle, you are choosing quality craftsmanship designed to support you and your horse for many years.

Every NSC saddle is handcrafted in England using premium materials and traditional techniques. We stand behind that quality with a comprehensive manufacturer’s warranty and ongoing support throughout the life of your saddle.

Warranty Coverage

5 Year Structural Warranty on the Saddle Tree

The saddle tree forms the foundation of the saddle. It is covered for five years from the original date of purchase against manufacturing defects.

If a tree is found to be defective within this period, NSC Saddles NZ will repair or replace the saddle at our discretion so you can return to riding with confidence.

1 Year Warranty on Materials and Workmanship

Leather, stitching, panels, and other components are covered for one year from the original date of purchase against defects in materials or workmanship.

As leather is a natural material, minor variations in colour, grain, or texture are part of its character and not considered faults.

Designed to Last

A well cared for English saddle can remain comfortable, safe, and structurally sound for many years. Regular checks help ensure the saddle continues to fit both horse and rider as bodies change over time.

To help your saddle perform at its best, we recommend:

• A professional check approximately 3 to 4 months after purchase
• Ongoing fit and safety checks every 6 to 12 months
• Routine leather care and appropriate storage

Checks should be carried out by an experienced saddle fitter or qualified professional.

If a warranty claim is made, NSC Saddles NZ may request evidence of servicing or inspection where relevant.

Saddle Fit and Ongoing Support

Correct saddle fit is essential for horse welfare and rider comfort. As horses develop, gain fitness, or change shape, adjustments may be needed.

NSC saddles are designed to allow adjustment where possible, and we are always happy to guide you on maintaining the best fit for your horse.

Advice provided by independent saddle fitters or third parties is outside the control of NSC Saddles NZ, but we work closely with fitters across New Zealand to support our customers.

What Is Not Covered

Our warranty focuses on genuine manufacturing defects. It does not cover:

• Normal wear and tear from regular riding
• Cosmetic changes such as fading, scuffing, or creasing
• Damage caused by accidents, falls, or misuse
• Improper storage, neglect, or inadequate care
• Damage resulting from incorrect fit or use on unsuitable horses

Alterations or repairs carried out without NSC approval may affect warranty coverage where such work has contributed to the issue being claimed or affects the saddle’s structure, safety, or performance.

Items such as girth straps and billets naturally wear over time and may require replacement as part of normal maintenance.

Warranty Assessment Process

If you believe your saddle has developed a fault, we are here to help.

Please contact NSC Saddles NZ or the retailer you purchased from and provide:

  1. A description of the issue
  2. Clear photographs
  3. Proof of purchase

In some cases, the saddle may need to be inspected or returned so we can assess it properly.

We will determine whether the issue is covered and whether repair, replacement, or another solution is most appropriate. Turnaround times depend on the nature of the work required.

Unless otherwise agreed, customers are responsible for freight to and from NSC Saddles NZ.

Transferability

This manufacturer’s warranty applies to the original purchaser.

NSC saddles are built to last and often serve multiple riders and horses over their lifetime. Rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 may also apply where the saddle was originally supplied for personal use.

Used or Clearance Saddles

Different warranty terms may apply to used or clearance saddles. Details will be provided at the time of purchase.

Your Rights Under New Zealand Law

This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and other applicable legislation.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes those rights.
