We’re delighted to offer you the chance to experience an NSC – The English Saddle Co saddle at home before making your decision.
Our At Home Trial gives you 7 days to ride in the saddle and be sure it’s the right match for you and your horse. The trial fee is $100 per saddle (plus postage if required). If you decide to purchase an NSC saddle within 30 days of your trial, we’ll refund the full trial fee (postage excluded).
How it works
- 7-day trial period – if you’d like to extend, please contact us first. Additional weeks are available at $100 per saddle per week.
- Purchasing after trial – after 3 weeks without return, we’ll assume you’d like to keep the saddle and we’ll process the balance of payment.
- Returns – if you return the saddle at the end of your trial, return courier costs are your responsibility. Please ensure it is carefully packed and sent via a tracked service for peace of mind.
- Condition of saddles – to keep our trial saddles in top condition for every rider, please follow the guidelines below. If a saddle is returned damaged beyond normal trial use, the cost of repairs (or in rare cases, the full value of the saddle) will be charged.
Trial guidelines
To give you and your horse the best experience while protecting the saddle, we ask that you:
- Keep it attended or locked away – lost, stolen, or damaged saddles remain your responsibility.
- Use the saddle at home or in your yard only (no competitions/events).
- Limit riding to 2–3 sessions of up to 90 minutes each – this is usually plenty to evaluate fit and feel.
- Always use a mounting block to avoid unnecessary strain.
- Keep the saddle clean and dry. A wipe with a damp cloth is all that’s needed.
- Avoid riding in the rain.
- Ride in clean clothes and boots (no chaps, please).
- Leave all tags in place – they can be tucked neatly out of sight under the skirt.
- Ensure only you ride in the saddle and it stays in your care.
- Store the saddle safely: never on the ground, in direct sun, or in a hot car.
